V-LEAD has collaborated with Azim Premji Foundation(APF), Bangalore to improve the quality of education in government schools. Effective school leaders and managers have to be developed if we have to provide the best possible education to our children. Hence building expertise in the area of Education Leadership Management (ELM) is priority.
V-Lead's dedicated facilitators under this project will facilitate programs to the second and third line management in the education system… initially in the areas, T.Narsipura, K. R. Nagara and Mysore Rural.
The vision is to build effective organization development strategies designed to improve the climate and internal conditions of a school and to provide the decentralization necessary for the schools to make their own responses to the challenges facing them.
Some of the critical aspects of the program are :
a) The program addresses the perspectives, skills and knowledge of Head Teachers
b) Program is to be carried out in cycles of training application of training and coaching that is operationalized as Training Project Project Review Meetings. The entire cycle took about 15 weeks, of which 7 weeks are in project implementation mode
c) This program's design is driven in the direction of effectiveness, it recognizes that different people develop at different paces, in different ways and need different types and levels of support. It recognizes the need for an ongoing long term relationship with the people being developed.
As facilitators, it calls upon us to play the role of change agents and in the process we acquire:
1. The commitment to make change happen
2. Deep content-mastery
3. Sound facilitation skills and investing adequate time in initial development
4. Providing Head Teachers continuous support for their ongoing development
