The Social Development sector, commonly known as the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) / Not for Profit / Non – Profit Sector, has seen rapid growth in the past few decades. The sector has transformed from a semi formal, voluntary sector, into a structured, professional sector. Various systems and techniques of management are increasingly being utilised in the processes of goal attainment, making it imperative to have competent and capable personnel to take charge and manage development initiatives. The entry of the corporate sector through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has augmented this need to have well trained social development professionals.
