TRAC (Training, Research, Advocacy and Consultancy) wing of SVYM has evolved over the past twenty six years to share the vast knowledge, experience and expertise accumulated by the organization in the field of health, education and community development. TRAC aims to develop the core competencies of individuals and organizations involved in developmental activities through training and consultancy assignments. Developmental research is undertaken to expand its knowledge base and to gather empirical evidence for strengthening advocacy of various developmental issues.

 


The TRAC activities are undertaken by three units:

1] Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (VILD)
2] Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies (VIIS)
3] Grassroot Research And Advocacy Movement (GRAAM)


Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (VILD)

GOAL: “To serve India by building the potential of Individuals and Institutions for the Development Sector”.

Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (VILD) established in the year 2002 focuses on capacity building. Its purpose is to serve India by building the potential of Individuals & Institutions for the development sector.

VILD has been offering training to the Youth, NGO's, the Government and the Corporate Sector customizing various programs to suit specific needs on issues of Management, Community Development and Leadership . It has also been actively involved in Action Research and has been serving as a field laboratory for innovative, interventional and pragmatic Models of Development.

VILD has been pioneering professional management in the Development sector and is ready to offer its experienced based Management Programs in a structured form,. thus making available competent manpower for the development and improvement of core competencies in the management of Third Sector.

VILD operates from a well equipped campus at Hebbal in Mysore. The campus includes a library, 24 hour internet facility and training halls. The institute also offers a hostel and canteen facility at its Supraja Campus located in close proximity.(click here to see more)


The core activities of VILD are:

1] Youth for Development (Y4D) – a unique programme to develop rural youth to undertake development activities in their community.
2] Master’s in Non Profit Management recognised by University of Mysore.
3] Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation recognised by Bangalore University and Rehabilitation Council of India.
4] Short Term Training Programmes such as Behaviour Management at Workplace and Stress Management for Executives.
5] Customised training programmes for Government, NGOs and Corporate sectors.


The community based programmes are essentially capacity building programmes conducted in the communities.

1] Arogyavardhini – a programme to develop the capacity of the Village Health and Sanitation Committees (VHSC).
2] Shikshanavahini – a programme to empower the school development and monitoring committees (SDMC).
3] YES (Youth for Education and Sanitation) – Empowering youth to revolutionise education and sanitation in rural Karnataka.
