This project was initiated in 2006 to undertake programmes that mainstream dropout children into the formal education system and improve their health seeking behaviour. The project is being implemented in 7 slums of Mysore city, namely Hebbal colony, Kumbarakoppal, Metagalli, Manjunathapura, Bamboo bazaar, Ekalavyanagar and B.B.Keri. the project is funded by N.R.Foundation, Mysore. Under the project Kalika Kendras (Child Learning Centres) have been opened in slums, targeting out of school children and those with low levels of Learning. No textbooks are used but instead joyful learning methods are employed,to kindle interest in them towards studies. Training on health and hygiene is given. When the child is deemed ready by the facilitators, they are mainstreamed into their regular school.

Also, Awareness Generation Programs are being implemented targeting the SHGs, youth groups, and community leaders to raise awareness about the need for educating their children and also care for their own health. Other fora like jathas, melas, street plays, etc are also used to achieve the objectives.
